Program settings

Spider is a program that provides the user with many configuration options. Appropriate configuration allows you to adjust the program to your own requirements and needs. You can define not only the way the program works, but also its appearance!

The "Program settings" window is used to configure all possible aspects of the program operation. The settings window consists of an area displaying the categories of settings and an area where the program settings can be changed. Individual options have been placed on boards, which can be switched using buttons placed on two switchable tabs on the left side of the window:

• General tab
  • General - settings related to the general operation of the program.
  • Preview - settings related to the viewing features of edited documents.
  • program user and version check - to specify the program user and how often the program version is checked for updates and news is displayed.
  • At start-up and sounds - refers to settings related to program start-up.
  • History - settings for managing histories, e.g. of files opened.
  • List of files - settings for maintaining the list of files in the "Projects" panel, handling the "drag and drop" mechanism
  • Templates - related to the template function provided by the program.
• Other settings tab
  • Editor, highlighting schemes, spelling - editor configuration and coloring scheme settings and options related to spell checking.
  • Toolbars, menus, keyboard shortcuts - define the appearance of the program, the configuration of keyboard shortcuts and the content of the toolbars.
  • Facilitations, dynamic code, other - configuration of editing facilities.
  • Network and server settings - related to network operation in the program.
  • Other tools, Tidy, HTML Help - enabling the configuration of additional programs used from Spider.

By default, this window is called with the F8 shortcut or from the main toolbar with the button shown on the right.
