FAQ – Questions and answers

This section contains the frequently asked questions (FAQ) and answers regarding my applications. It is designed to be helpful in solving the most common issues that you can suffer when using apps. The FAQ is divided into few subsections like the general and other related to apps.

General

I have replaced my device with a new one. How can I get access to the purchased content?
You can restore your purchase by going online on your device and logging to the same iTunes or Google account as used for the initial purchase. Then start the app and let it download purchase information from the appstore. It may take several seconds. On iOS devices you can also use the "Restore" button which is located at the bottom of the purchase window. Eventually you can reinitiate the purchase process and the system should recover your purchase.
I paid for the upgrade but the app is not receiving the features?
You had probably acted to fast with your back button or home button and the app had no chance to validate the purchase. To fix this, on your device, please go online, login to the Google or iTunes account used for the initial purchase depending on your device system and start the app. Then let it download your purchase information and verify it against our servers. This may take several seconds depending on network conditions. You can also try to reinitiate the purchase and the app should detect your previous purchase and start validation.
I purchased the premium package. It worked one evening. The next morning it asked me to repay.
Apps store purchase information in the local storage of the device and in cloud services. Especially on iOS devices the system may clear the local storage area on its own when the free space on the device is running out. Similarly there are tools on some devices that clear the phone cache and apps data to save some place. If you are offline then the purchase information may disappear. If your purchase information is lost you can obviously restore it. To fix this, on your device, please go online, login to the Google (Android) or iTunes (iOS) account used for the initial purchase and start the app. Then let it download your purchase information and verify it against our validation servers. This may take several seconds depending on network conditions. You can also try to reinitiate the purchase and the app should detect your previous purchase and start validation.
Your app is not available in my language.

Although my apps are already translated to several different languages there are many other which are not supported yet.  I regret this but I can't provide translations for all the tongues in the World on my own. However, if you would be willing to help, we could change this at least for your language as I already did for other with a little help from good people around the World. If you are interested please visit the page about translations of my apps.

Family sharing on Apple iOS doesn't work
We use family sharing, but even though the app says it can be used on up to 6 devices with family sharing, the in-app purchase isn’t installing on my device although it loaded on her device. Can you help?
The "Family sharing" is totally an Apple's feature which is handled on their own. As a developer I have no relation to this program, even can't opt in/out to it. The information in the Appstore is displayed for all apps. It's not what I turned on and it's not something I can handle in my app. It's up to Apple. Additionally if you check the "Family sharing" service terms of service you'll find that it doesn't allow any purchase to be shared. Some are excluded from the program. Please visit the link to check "What types of content can I share with my family using purchase sharing?". Please ask Apple directly to remove the limitations and don't blame me. I can't do anything about this. I'm sorry.

Application: Glycemic Index and Load

Unfortunately the food list has disappeared! What can I do?
I'm aware of the issue and plan to fix this in the next release. The problem is mostly related to iOS and may happen due to the low free space available on device. At the moment, to fix this please uninstall and install the app again from the Appstore. Then use the "Restore" button at the bottom of purchase information window and everything should be back to normal. Sorry for all the inconveniences.
Why the list of foods doesn't contain the xxx/yyy food? Why no calories or fat?
The app focuses on carbohydrates and related subjects like Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load. It is not designed to be suitable for all kinds of diets available in the World. The list of food is limited to the food that have Glycemic Index values available. Finding a Glycemic Index value for a food is not that easy as getting it from a food label. It requires scientific research in labs and with people involved as subjects of the research.
Is it possible and how to change body weight from kg to lbs?
Sure it is possible! The app has users all over the World so such features is a must. To change the default unit for weight in the app go to the app settings. You can do this from the side menu (slide in from the left) and tap the "Settings" option. Then scroll down to the default weight unit settings. There you can switch from grams to ounces which also causes that the weight diary will show weight in kilograms or pounds.
